Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of June 30, 2026

CLINTON — The Clinton Zoning Board of Appeals continued its hearing on a Coin Street 40B affordable-housing project to August 25. Peer-review engineer Kristen LaBrie of Howard Stein Hudson walked the board through an 11-page technical letter covering stormwater, traffic and zoning waivers, warning that "no catch basin can handle a 100-year storm." The applicant agreed to help the town pursue a MassWorks or Home Works state grant to fix a defunct drainage system and boost water pressure on Coin Street, with the review funded by a $17,000 payment the developer made to the town. A neighbor said he did not know "how are we going to assess the safety aspect" of children walking to a relocated bus stop.

In other business, the board gave informal guidance allowing a 23 Laurel Drive property owner to rebuild a decades-old trailer dwelling without a special permit, provided the new structure stays under 25 percent lot coverage.
