Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of April 14, 2026
CLINTON — The Zoning Board of Appeals approved a special permit for an auto repair shop and got a first look at Clinton's first Chapter 40B housing proposal. The board voted unanimously to allow conversion of Bay 6 at 1042 Main Street from motor vehicle light service to general body repair, with Walter T. Ryan seconding the motion. Vice Chair Christopher O'Donnell, Esq., read the public hearing notice into the record.
Separately, a town official identified only as Mike told the board a 24-unit development off Coin Street has been filed as Clinton's first Chapter 40B comprehensive permit project, and said he would recuse himself due to a business relationship with the developer. Members discussed concerns over a narrow access road, an undersized water main and traffic effects on nearby streets, noting "we can't just put a kibosh on everything and expect things to get cheaper." No hearing date for the housing project has been set.
