CLINTON -- May 4, 2026, Clinton School Committee approves early dismissal schedule and two board policies while managing a $533,000 special education tuition overrun. The committee voted unanimously May 4 to approve early dismissals at 11:39 a.m. for Clinton High School final exams on May 12, 15, 16, and 17, and to adopt updated policy JLCD on medical administration and policy IJNDA, the district's new artificial intelligence policy. Finance director Annette reported that special education tuition costs are running $533,000 above budget for fiscal year 2026, producing a projected deficit of approximately $85,000, though an anticipated circuit breaker reimbursement from DESE of roughly $160,000 "will probably wipe out our deficit." Superintendent Dr. Marlowe previewed extensive FY27 changes including a new split-rotation schedule at Clinton High School, two newly approved DESE Innovation Pathways in business and information technology, a pilot of the Arts and Letters literacy curriculum at the elementary school, and Title I federal funding now projected at $356,716 following a roughly 7 percent reduction from prior levels.
