School Committee · Meeting of July 13, 2026

Clinton's School Committee endorsed a principal reshuffle at two schools and approved a special education teacher's leave. Superintendent Dr. Meyer told the board Megan Frisch will become interim principal of Clinton Middle School after Tyler Steffi's resignation, with Kate Morin as assistant principal and Alyssa and Courtney Knoll serving as elementary co-principals. Members "endorsed" rather than formally voted on a new second assistant principal post, funded by salary savings.

The committee unanimously approved a one-year leave for teacher Emily Kinch, updated signatories on the student activity account, and advanced a $500,000-backed special education stabilization fund policy on first reading. Meyer said a high school cell-phone lockdown system, estimated under $3,000, is under review, and the district's $225,000 federal earmark request has reached the Senate Appropriations Committee. Chair Matt Varakis also read Superintendent Meyer's annual evaluation aloud, upgrading several ratings to "exceeded."
