Clinton School Committee Adopts Police Interaction Policy
School Committee · Meeting of September 14, 2026
Clinton School Committee adopts law enforcement interaction policy required under new state law. Superintendent Meyer told the board the district waived a first reading and adopted Policy ACL despite two members being absent, saying the policy "really just codifies" practices already in place under state guidance. The committee also approved $600 in athletics petty cash, its annual student activity accounts, and heard that a staff email account was hacked the same day, sending spam to employees, days after a cyberattack forced Springfield Public Schools into paper-based operations.
Meyer said the district is exploring whether its technology department, which manages roughly 2,600 devices, could absorb the town's technology support, currently handled by a consultant responsible for about 120 devices. The district's PTA reported roughly five active members and a fundraising goal of more than $40,000, with over 50 percent of teachers and about 25 percent of students already signed up.
