Conservation · Meeting of August 26, 2026

Clinton conservation panel ratifies Main Street enforcement order, OKs Berlin Street catch basin fix. The Conservation Commission voted 4-0 to approve DPW Superintendent Kevin Bartlett's plan to stabilize a failing Berlin Street catch basin with concrete fill and sandbagging, then voted 4-0 to ratify a revised enforcement order for unpermitted fill and an unpermitted parking lot at 474-530 Main Street, setting a September 23 deadline for an as-built plan. Consultant Paul told the board there's "no question that it's a non-compliance." A separate enforcement case at 172 West Street, tied to property owner Andrei Mendes, remains open after nine months amid a botched survey; wetland scientist Anthony Gee said "the entirety of the waiting period has been us waiting on survey." The commission also issued two new enforcement orders for Grove Street properties and approved $257.40 in bills, and heard that spotted lanternflies have been found for the first time at Rauscher Farm.
