Clinton Conservation Commission tables copier bill, flags major Coin Street 40B redesign. Members voted unanimously to table a disputed $654 Konica Minolta invoice pending an itemized breakdown, and approved $2,200 for a purple loosestrife beetle program plus $1,242.50 in Rouser Farm signage. Volunteer Jim described a fireworks-sparked brush fire near the Rouser Farm barn during a drought-level Fourth of July stretch, saying "we suddenly heard what sounded like a shotgun blast" before crews and the fire department extinguished it.
The board said a 23 Coin Street project, once a roughly seven-unit subdivision, has returned as a 40B application with about 23 or 24 units, likely requiring a new notice of intent. Member Dave, a working wetlands consultant, noted developers can use isolated wetlands for stormwater "all the time" because Clinton has no local wetlands bylaw. Members also revived plans for a second attempt at that bylaw after an earlier version was rejected at town meeting.
