Select Board Approves $30,000 ARPA Consultant

Select Board · Meeting of October 21, 2026

CLINTON — The Clinton Select Board voted unanimously to shift $30,000 from reserves to hire ARPA closeout consultant. Town Administrator Karyn Clark said the firm, CLA, will verify eligible pandemic-relief expenses before an April closeout report. The board also approved a street closure for the Ghosts and Goblins 5K, which funds a scholarship honoring Raphael Ruiz-Perez, a Clinton High freshman who drowned in 2019; member Matthew Kobus, the race's "booster webmaster," gave event details.

Library Director Marie said three towns declined state library construction funding, meaning Massachusetts may reopen the grant round as soon as winter 2027, "because it seems like a shame to throw out millions of dollars." Members debated converting a long-split facilities admin job to full-time without a vote. The board then voted 4-0 by roll call to enter executive session over a firefighters' union grievance.
