Personnel Board · Meeting of April 7, 2026

CLINTON — The Clinton Personnel Board approved three edits to the town's personnel bylaw but tabled a vote on sending the full document to the Select Board. Members voted unanimously to add a new protected-class provision, add "domestic partner" language to the bereavement leave policy, and align the military leave policy with federal USERRA requirements. A motion to forward the complete bylaw, which includes a disputed rewrite capping vacation accrual at 25 days, stalled because member Matthew Varakis was absent; the board plans to revisit the vote, tentatively on April 21.

A town employee identified as Phyllis asked the board to consider a longevity stipend for the roughly 55 non-union employees at Town Hall, the library and the senior center, saying there is "literally nothing" currently rewarding their tenure. The board took no vote on that proposal.
