Rauscher Farm Management Sub Committee · Meeting of May 13, 2026
CLINTON — Rauscher Farm Management Subcommittee prioritized a new electric mower and weighed backup mowing options. Members said the Conservation Commission's $5,000 annual equipment budget for this fiscal year is fully spent on signage and battery tools, and discussed a second Billy Goat brush mower estimated at $3,000 to $4,000 for next year. Longtime mowing contractor Sam Bell may be unavailable due to a family medical situation, prompting the committee to look at towns including Sterling, Bolton, Lancaster and Acton for backup help, or to mow fields themselves.
Member Gloria Parkinson clarified that a tree that fell on Clamshell Pond Road "was already completely snapped off" before National Grid finished the job. Members also confirmed a four-student WPI research team for a 2026-2027 wetland project and planned a July 28-29 volunteer day for about 15 teenagers through the Clinton Kids, Cops and Community Program.
