Parks and Rec and Fuller Field Commission · Meeting of July 8, 2026

Clinton Parks Board adopted written rules for its Summer Concert Series after complaints about protesters near children. The commission, reorganized with Ryan as chair and Patty as vice chair, voted unanimously to accept rules drafted by Attorney Gibbons of Merrick Law that bar signs and canvassing "unrelated to the event" inside a designated event area while allowing peaceful protest elsewhere in Central Park. Staff said the weekly concerts draw roughly 600 attendees.

The board also voted to pursue a two-sided National Fitness Court installation at Savage Field, costing roughly $100,000 versus $60,000 for a one-sided version, through a fiscal 2028 grant cycle. Members separately approved replacing the Fuller Field scoreboard through Scoreboard Enterprises Inc., partly funded by a football-association donation, and accepted a donated memorial quarter pipe and bench honoring Cameron Maloney, a skater who died this spring.
