Carriage House wins occupancy, COA reports

Council on Aging · Meeting of September 16, 2026

Clinton's Council on Aging announced the senior center's Carriage House addition has officially passed occupancy inspection, clearing the way for new programming. Council on Aging Director Laura told the board the contractor confirmed occupancy the day of the September 16 meeting, calling it "official" after months of renovation. The board also met new Town Administrator Karen Clark, who described plans for monthly meetings with department heads.

Facilities savings were notable: a security-camera quote of $8,000 to $10,000 was replaced by a $517 Ring-camera setup done with facilities staffer Brian Faragher, while a $50,000 quote for third-floor air conditioning splitters remains unresolved. The council reported spending $13,177 of its third ARPA round with $2,300 left to allocate before a December 31 deadline, and moved its October meeting to October 28 so staff can attend the Massachusetts Council on Aging's fall symposium.
